Solomon taking over

importance of getting the message to our offspring ... you never really know how much time you have with others.. so leave something lasting!

David again shows an interesting way to deal with issues .. (Joab in this case)
He seems to want Solomon to start his reign in justice and discernment
7-9
more 'issues' to 'take care of' wow.. HA! getting rid of those that wronged you.. but as well... first and foremost he was sure to put forth to those he OWED to due to their desire and willingness to help David when he was in need
10-21
DAVID DIES!!!! (are we suppose to be happy about this?)
Adonijah requests a wife from Solomon's mother .. in a way this could be a power play .. (and fulfills the negative aspect of the promise made to Adonijah ... ending in his death 22-25)
26-33
Benaiah replaced Joab
Adonijah replaced as priest
Why might Joab not been spared at the horns of the alter? (likely because this was one of David's dieing wish)
34-45
Shimei was killed.. even with the opportunity to possible live.. he breaks the 'truce' so to speak that opens his own death
