What Will taught on tonight... If you missed out! (UNVEILED)

Lesson taught by Will, notes taken by derk

1 Samuel 26

About 1000 bc

We reviewed some of our points and thoughts from past lessons

There have been a few times that David went into the wilderness to avoid the attacks of Saul

There as well a time that Saul admits David is a better man than himself

.... Now for this week

David is again in the wilderness and knows of Saul being on his way

David has 600 men and has Saul 3000 men... About 5 to 1 odds

David calls for men to go with him into Saul's camp

Saul is well protected by man's standard.. But yet David makes it to him and has a chance to kill Saul again... Choosing not to leaving it to God... Taking some things to prove that they were there

Jesus did much like David but in another way in letting His death occur... The end results may be different but in those times and their purpose it was God's plan

David now brings forth the proffer showing that he had the chance to kill Saul... David even challenges him as to what it is the he(david) did that he deserves to be sought after for death.

Saul again turns back and asks for forgiveness... Seeing what David has been able to 'show' about what Saul is doing... And questioning why... Though Saul does not offer atonement for it... Just that David rejoin Saul

We are almost seeing a repeat of chapter 24...all this has occurs and they each go Thier own ways (David returned the things he took.. Therefore not the accusable of theft

The 'taunting ' of Abner is humorous but really it is a fear that we all have in failing our jobs

Sometimes we may have issues with our positions or possible promises of leadership or raise... And we may get a chance to force us into our lives by 'throwing someone under the bus' yet it would have been by our power and not God's... What is your trust in... Man? Or God?

What might you think that motivates Saul to do what he is doing?

He knows that David is to be the next king... This could be enough to have him forget often

How do we keep ourselves from becoming like Saul?

Servant attitudes... The be attitudes...

Are you in a time in your life where you feel you are not where God says you will be?

Or instead are you in a position where you feel you had what you deserved and have lost it?
