By The Power Of Greyskull !!! or Calling Time In T-ball (Blurb)

Want to listen to this post instead?

How many out there remember their T-ball days? I just watched a game for the first time in a LONG time. I really enjoyed it, and really had to realize what the rules really were again. I coached Kyley in soccer about a year and a half ... or two ago and was still pretty fresh on those rules. I had not played or even watched T-ball in probably/maybe fifteen! What does all this have to do with the silly He-man reference in my title? I re-noticed the rule of "Calling time".

This amazing thing, that can only be done by those tiny 'powerless' players is like having a super power! Just as He-man would lift that sword and cry out "By THE POWER OF GREYSKULL!!" all that young one has to do is lift that tiny ball and yell "TIME" and the world has to freeze! I actually now remember being a kid on that field hoping I could get my hands onto that ball! No need trying to hit some one with it, no need throwing it all over the field, no need doing anything but lifting my hand and calling "TIME". Oh, what a power!

Judges 2:18 AMP

When the Lord raised them up judges, then He was with the judge and delivered them out of the hands of their enemies all the days of the judge; for the Lord was moved to relent because of their groanings by reason of those who oppressed and vexed them.

God seems to like this power as well! Instead of only a ball in the hand - He may have an ark in a flood, a staff in a hand, or a Judge in a nation! (get that image of Judge Dredd out of your head)

When the nation of Israel went so far out of His will, He would lift His judge and call "TIME" and just like all the players and coaches turn to gaze on that little T-ball superior - the nation of Israel (and many times the opposing force) would gaze upon the Lord!

Most of the time the idea of lifting ones hands has to do with surrender, especially in context of God. But, what if it did not need to be that way? What if instead of surrender we were that person in the battle holding the standard(flag) high? We were lifting our hands; not just because of the horrible lives we have lived, the bad choices we have made, or the need of change in our lives but instead for the fight of our brothers and sisters beside us.

Psalm 134:2 KJV

Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the Lord.

Let us lift our hands and call "TIME" freezing all the issues and insanity around us - to focus on one another, instead of ourselves. Our problems may be large through our eyes, but when one reaches to help another they find that those problems can fade as it inspires others to reach out as well.

Call "TIME" and let God guide your heart to another!
