For Fans Of Lifehouse, David Crowder Band, Lincoln Brewster
My VERY first thought listening to the first song "More To This Life" is that the Mastering was done at too high of a volume... I had to knock down the volume to my player by about 1/2 to get it to a listen'able' level. (fyi - I use headphones)
The music is actually well done besides the volume issue - Good lyrics, on the fence of Rock and Worship style of the music
The worship'ness' of the music is strong - very standard for this genre, granted on Noisetrade it is listed as 'gospel' but I have odd thoughts on the difference between Gospel and Worship, probably wrong - but ... I am not worried about it.
Stand Outs:
"I Will Praise You" - The vocals and just sound.. beat of the drum.. something reminded me of "By The Tree", awesome band!
"Holding on to You" (My Favorite #1) - Granted in this picture.. It is not "God" exactly, but the idea is the same - Hold Onto Faith. The interesting thing about this song is not that 'we' are holding onto God, but that God is actually carrying us.. it is a mind's eyes switcharoo - one second you imagine a child grasping the leg of their father.. desperately wanting attention... then you realize the image in wrong, That .. that father is actually holding the child... that we are being held in the arms of God... Hold onto Him!!
"I Tell Myself" - (My Favorite #2) The Acoustic and Electric guitar are AWESOME - I loved the lyrics in this song .. so reverent, perfectly ... right for me.. very nice!
"Need You Now" - (My Favorite #3) I feel much the same about this song as I do about " I Tell Myself "
If you enjoy worship music... Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman, and actually slightly David Crowder Band as stated above - you will enjoy Steven James!!
