52 Reasons : THIRTY_THREE : You Are Real

 

"You Are Real"

Thank God!!  I certainly did not want to find out that I was a clone.. or something worse .. a tv, book, movie.. character.. and everything in my life was created on the whim of some writer that wanted to make a buck... 

Oh.. wait.. Real.. as in.. oh.. I get it :P

I would like to combine this one with the honest one, but.. really .. they can be two different things.  I may be able to be honest with you, but not be able to be 'real' with you.  I know that this quality is something that I always enjoy in anyone that I look up to - normally if you do not have this quality in your character then I will likely NOT look up to you.  

Being real can be rough - some may take it as abrasive or uncaring, but I see it as living honestly.  That you know who you are, what you like and what you will stand for... and you do it.  When you know something - you are not afraid to say it. When you don't know something - you are not afraid to admit that you do not know.  If you are wrong - you are willing to swallow your pride and learn truth.

I see this as an imperative thing that we as spouses need to be.  When we love another we need to have an attitude towards them that is not overbearing .. or all knowing but instead understanding.  If Christ can ask us to forgive those around us.. even our enemies so very many times... why not our spouse...
