For Fans of :  John Mayer, Shane and Shane, Matt Kearney, Colbie Callait

9 Song Album

Overall Thoughts:

Very heavy with piano .. pretty deep.. storytelling messages at times.. I found the vocals to feel a bit shaky at times..

While the messages were great.. I did not find myself really 'into' the music.. It is good.. I liked the acoustic..all the instrumentation.. "Jesus Loves Me" is actually one of the best tracks on the album.. I felt.. and the addition of the '3 year old kevin' is pretty awesome!

Recording Thoughts:

Pretty Good ... Semi-Professional ( I think much of the vocals got 'lost' in the instrumentation)

Stand Outs:

"Jesus Loves Me" - I found the instrumentation.. especially the acoustic to be wonderful in this song.. and as well .. I thought the vocals were great in this one.. this may be my favorite one on the album..

  1. Thanks for the review. I definitely agree. I was hoping there were a little more standouts like "I Believe" instrumentation and "Nighting Gayle" having a little more impact. But overall, thanks for listening and giving me your thoughts. Very much appreciated.

    1. I just re-listened to both -

"I Believe" - While it sounds cool.. the vocals just do not seem to be mixed in a great way. I feel it is actually the reason that many of the songs are hard to get into. If I actually knew something about how to do anything about I would offer. The only time I ever did ANY mixing was for this : https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=210293290072 and it is .. umm.. not that great.. at all.

"Nighting Gayle" I do like the message and find it good.. It really did not .. stick out .. a whole bunch.. it took a bit of 'effort' to let it get in (same mixing problem I think). The concept of 'pick up your mat and sin no more' is one that is close to my heart so I enjoy that message.
