What Tim taught on tonight ... if you missed out! (UNVEILED)

The Word brought to you by the vessel that is Tim. Notes taken by Savvy

"the inside of Tim's brain is not justified. Just sayin.'"

  • verses 1-3
  •  David looks around him and is convicted. While he lives in luxury, the LORD dwells in a tent. Have we ever felt convicted by the way we act in God's house? We may act in the Spirit, but we should never act in irreverence.
  •  Nathan said, "Go, do all that is in your heart, for the Lord is with you." It is one thing to set a goal or make a list of the things we want to do for God. We have to set our hearts to do what is in our hearts. We have to have it in our hearts before it can come out in our actions. Don't beat yourself up because you aren't doing what you should. Want it -- make your heart's desire it -- and you will see it happen."
  • context context context! your heart is also desperately wicked. Be sure what is in your heart is from God! Let the Lord be with you. Yes, that is what you think it is. :P
  • verses 4-11
  • God says "no. I will make you a house." We can't give God anything. it is already his. He graciously gives it to us. And we don't owe God anything. We are so below the ability to pay our own debt to God. He paid our debt to him. Wow. That should make things simpler... should.
  • Binary... and English... and off and on... yeah. that was Derek.
  • Covenants were never "You do, and I'll do." Covenants were "you obey, follow, etc. and I'll do all of these amazing things for and through you." Now, if you disobey, weeping and gnashing of teeth and all that jazz.
  • Nathan is corrected. The greatest time in a leader's life is when he can go back and admit that he was wrong. Your leader does not have to be perfect. That will strengthen your relationship. It will give you validity and integrity when you admit that what you thought was God, really wasn't, but this is.
  • verses 12-17
  • Abi read the fine print. She's a rare one.
  • God showed Nathan the fine print. Nathan had to go back to the rack.
  • The beauty of the Old Testament is that if you don't get it in Samuel, you'll get another chance.
  • There are times that we have our heart in the right place, but its a blessing for someone else. Stop focusing on finishing. Jut start it and see where the Lord takes it. Just because something doesn't work, don't throw it in the fire yet. Give it a season of growth, prune, and then see if its burn-worthy.
  • verse 18-24
  • "Who am I?" "Is this how you treat all your servants?"
  • God had to back David up. No, your heart is right it needs to be. "Wait on the Lord, be of good courage, and he will strengthen your heart." Psalm 14:27 All David had to do was prepare for something he wouldn't even do.
  • verse 25-29
  • "Therefore your servant has found courage to pray this prayer to you." This is not what I wanted. But i will make it a blessing and a praise. When things are going (supposedly) "wrong," praise God for it. Even when it sucks.
  • Do we take time to thank God every day for the things God does for us everyday?
  •  "I get so into the work, that I forget that there is a promise there." Derek, before he spa+t.
  • John 6:35. Savy needs to stop singing.
  • Life with bubble up inside you like a forever spring. This is what makes this whole living thing bearable. John 4:14
  • What steps should we take to build our temple?
  • You have to get the cornerstone right. And it's not Peter. Just so ya know.
  • A fetus is a revival tent that gives birth to knew life. Took temple idea to whole new level.
  • We are not rewarded or punished by what is built on us, but rather what we build on others. If your workmanship stands the test of fire, then you have done well. If you built with straw, yes you are still getting into heaven, but you have nothing else to show for it.
  • You can't always let people build on you. You also have to learn how to build. That will give you the discernment to build on others, as well as to know how to remodel your own temple.
  • Do we drink from living water and eat the bread of life?
  • What does it mean to be hungry and thirsty?
  • You don't realize how dehydrated you are until you actually get water. We don't realize what we were missing until we are filled: those believed after the feeding of the five thousand, the Samaritan woman at the well.
  • Do you find that when you are immersing yourself in God that you are less tempted?
  • Satan's greatest tool is to isolate you and make you think that you are the only one going through what you are going through. People are suffering too. Sometimes at the same time you are. And this IS a good thing.
  •  David knew what to do after inquiring of the LORD and listened to Nathan and acted!! He had courage because TRUSTED the LORD and did not fear men or any GIANTS.    He had the LORDS purse. He was not a "shrimp" but was transparent with his men (did not always pretend to be "crazy" to get his way but did check his vision and God already planned the detailed list of how to build the temple.).   "He"
