Overall Thoughts:
Awesome English accented rap .. goodness.. for some reason.. my favorite accent for rap.. pulling the Savior Christ up strongly throughout the album. strong biblical messages!

Stand Outs:
"Christ Is Love" - how is it that others are to know that He is?.. because WE should be it ourselves! As well this really dives into the sacrifice of Christ and the reality of what that means for us! Great 'storytelling' song.. and encouraging in the department of understanding Christ's love and imparting that in ourselves to others!
"Identity In Christ" - in what way do you define yourself? .. "My songs are like sermons" .. umm I like those .. HA! This had some really cool 'names' of who we could.. or.. really are.. in Christ
"New Creation" - "Repent" .. so cool.. really kind of simplifies some of the difficult things of the Word.. to become new.. is actually quite easy .. in theory.. but sometimes we just do not want to 'give up' what is 'ours'
"The World Will Hate You" - took actual scripture.. and as well.. encourages those that are feeling the hate from the world.. it will happen.. it happened to Christ.. it will happen to those that follow Him.. in a most magnificent way.. it is a good thing
"You Know All Things" - very cool mixture of rap - techno - and beats.. I think I missed out on some lyrics due to some of the mixture.. but not too bad in it.. it sounds really cool.. The lyrics sounded really clever and put together well!

Hey Derek, thanks for sharing ya review of my bro's album. It will bring great joy to him that others are listening to his album all for the glory of God! he put a lot of hard work into both of his albums and he just wants to praise Jesus! ReplyDeleteMy favorite tracks are Christ is love (which seems to be a crossover favorite for most people listening to the album!), Times up and It is finished. I do hope and pray that he continues making music for the kingdom and that souls come to repentance and faith in Christ by the gospel shared in his music and that their lives will be a shining lights to the lost souls around them!
