What Angie taught on tonight ... if you missed out! (UNVEILED)

Lesson taught by Angie, notes taken by Savvy

 2 Samuel Chapter 8

verses 1-7: What do we think of Philistines? Doubting the power of God. They are the flesh, pulling the Israelites from the right thing to do.
Think of the things we have lost in spiritual battle, because of our own choices. These things did not stop David. He went forth and took back what they had lost.  God is with me. God is for me. I am going to reclaim those losses.

verses 8-14: What did David do with his spoils? Dedicated them to God. It was not glory for David. The glory was to God alone. He took the glory that others had made for themselves, and put where it was supposed to go.
Do historical books include the heroes' flaws? No, because history is written by winners. The Bible shows us their (OUR) flaws. God prospered David. He did not win on his own.
 UFBO- unidentified flying blue object.
These nations were trying to deal with David just like any other ruler or political leader they had met or heard of. But David didn't fit. The fear of the Lord changes the game.

verses 15-18: "David administered justice and equity." Fear of the Lord changes the game.
Part of integrity is recording your flaws.

2 Samuel Chapter 9
"Mephibosheth?I knoooow him!"

verses 1-7: David kept his promise to Jonathon and to Saul. 1 Samuel 24:21, 1 Samuel 20:14-15. Jonathon asked David to spare his offspring, despite the fact that the Lord would cut off David's enemies. Not "You kill me, I kill you back." Abi.

verses 8-13: DONT FORGET! HE is lame... in both his feet.
"Such a dead dog as I?" Is this how we see ourselves in comparison to God?
"Mephibosheth was the last heir standing -- well..."

How can we forget what God did for us? Where we came from? The dead dog that we were before God carried us to his table?

2 Samuel Chapter 10
verses 1-6: David's men sent in peace, were attacked and humiliated.
Where are you getting your information about David? How did you think this was going to go well for you? You try to humiliate God, you've got another thing coming.

verses 7-11: David's army is completely surrounded. They think they can take him. But David has mighty men. These are better-than-the-movies men.

verses 12-16: The battle cry! "Be of good courage, and let us be courageous for our people, and for the cities of our God, and may the Lord do what seems good to him!"
Now who's humiliated? Those guys!
Victory over our enemies is not a thing of the past.

verses 17-19: The Syrians finally got hip to the plan. It was better to be slaves on the good side, than to die on the wrong side. Victory over our enemies is NOT a thing of the past. But when you leave that remnant of sin it will come back to bite you. It will rise the whole loaf.

Carried To The Table Lyrics

Leeland

Wounded and forsaken

I was shattered by the fall

Broken and forgotten Feeling lost and all alone
Summoned by the King
Into the Master's courts
Lifted by the Savior
And cradled in His arms

I was carried to the table
Seated where I don't belong
Carried to the table
Swept away by His love
And I don't see my brokenness anymore
When I'm seated at the table of the Lord
I'm carried to the table
The table of the Lord

Fighting thoughts of fear
And wondering why He called my name
Am I good enough to share this cup
This world has left me lame
Even in my weakness
The Savior called my name
In His Holy presence
I'm healed and unashamed

You carried me, my God
You carried me
