What derk taught on tonight ... If you missed out! (UNVEILED)

2 Samuel 12. David's a sinner!!

v 1-5 (6... sort of): Have you ever judged someone and realized that the judgment applied more to you than anyone?
We never get to the "right place" to correct others. As long as we realized the speck in our eye, we can help another. If we refuse to           acknowledge the speck, or allow the speck to quiet us, others will suffer.
The Bible acts as a mirror. We may go looking for a verse to reprimand someone else, and then see our own sins staring back at us.

"Derek's a retard and doesn't know there is a number six." Derek

v 7-10 "YOU ARE THE MAN!" Whoa, dude. Context.
a. David has recently praised God and thanked Him for all he has done. In light of this sin, do you think he gratefulness was sincere. Have you ever felt like taking back your gratefulness when you get reprimanded? Or could people blame you of false humility after you mess? But at the same time, God's blessings to you are not conditional to your ability or behavior.
b. Have you accepted blessing, then denied it to others? David accepted his blessing from God, then denied such a blessing to Uriah. "like that guy... in the story... that Jesus told."

"Vomiting Sin. That's serious stuff."

v 11-12 "If God is loving God, then why ___________?"
Did God make these things happen later? Or did David and his actions reflect that God said this?
Did David's sons choose their actions? Generational curses? Did his sons choose their actions in response to the legacy their father left due to this sin?
But the Bible says "I will raise up..."
But there is always repentance that can happen. Moses and the Israelites.
God's not mean. he is a parent. There were consequences for David's actions.

v 13-15 Has anyone else ever suffered because of your sin?
"if I hadn't done this, what cold I have done for so many other people"
Your sin is not just about you.

v 15-23 Oh, yay. Derek's Ignorance. :)
Ok. And we're back. What is your take on David's grieving in this situation?
David didn't give up on his child. Until God's word had come to be.

v 24-25 Solomon, the next King, was born out of repentance. Not out of sin.
Do we want to have Nathan come and call us out, or do we want to be people who are open with each other about sins?

Like every lesson... anything to confess?
(Thats Derek's thing) :P

Confession of Digression.

Prayer and end.
