Lesson taught by William, Notes taken by derk
1 Kings 10
1-5
The Queen of Sheba visits Solomon and is amazed by all that he has... wisdom as well as riches
6-9
She only seems to offer praise for Solomon, God and as well even the servants
It was great to serve such a wonderful King... but how much more so to serve statement
10-13
Each ruler exchanges gifts - This is a very large transaction (8 or 9 thousand pounds of gold)
2 hundred 46 million ... wow...
This does not even count the precious stone, spices, and wood
14-23
Here we see a glimpse of how rich this kingdom was
"Silver was considered of little value in Solomon's day" ... Oh snap!!
He is doing 'pretty' good for himself
24-29
Another declaration of his wealth
----
Interestingly the multiplcation of horses ... in Egypt (Deut 17:16-17) is fobidden (this is certainly open to interpretation).. and we may see more of this as we move on in other chapters
maybe Solomon saw himself as a middle man...
How many times do we 'trick' ourselves into believing what we are doing is ... ok ... for some reason
We will rationalize our actions.. even though they are wrong.
