Deraj - Honesty of The Heart (Free Music, Review) @Noisetrade

^Widget Above^

For Fans of: LECRAE, DA T.R.U.T.H., J.R., HILLSONG, ANDRE 3000

The start of a couple of songs almost feel awkward, but they all seem to come back together and have a pleasing sound.

Like a lot of the Christian Rap music I have come upon on Noisetrade, the lyrics are pretty hard hitting!

This has more of a Gospel or more a Rhythm and blues sound to many parts of it.

Standouts:

"Who you say I am" rap music painting of dealing with our own demons, or our own defeating inner voice (confusing mix of words, like voices in the head) I like this, just because it not only says what it speaks but it 'shows' it.

"Led To Believe" Can almost be a slap in the face in a few parts (def. not all) but to talk about the stature that God puts us, and how we are to Him in return... man...

When one of the songs contains 'singing' instead of rapping, sometimes it feels a little awkward (which might really be what I was referring to above, because it seems there was singing in the first few at the start of the album), but when the rapping parts come in - it sounds great!

"Trust In Me" An interesting interpretation of God's take on what He has done for us, and how he 'feels' about it (but also very much showcases the awkward singing)

"Unpopular" about the issues dealing with being 'Christian' in a 'sinners' world...

"All Out of Love" should not be listened to without listening to "Familiar Stranger" seeing the world one way, we need to look and see if all those looking at us see a stranger..

"Familiar Stranger" may just be my favorite, as I have been in this state before... and at times fear to be there again - Good thing God will be with me.. "Lord, look inside of me... and clean me, Father..."

Take a listen, download, check out the others on amazon below.... enjoy!
