Guest Post by Mel (my awesome wife) {what was taught at CRY tonight}

Judges 7 and 8
Last week we talked about Gideon always needing a sign. Signs could be good or bad.
Gideon had too many followers. Ch 7:2

God wanted to make sure that he received glory.

22000 people left for fear.
They chose fear over trusting God.
They had a choice.
The remaining men were given another more subtle choice.
9700 men were asked to leave. 300 remained.
300 men were supposed to defeat the Midianites.
Now Gideon had a choice to go down to the camp and overheard a dream and its interpretation.
Last week we learned that Gideon worked with wheat so a loaf of bread defeating the Midianites was fitting.

Gideon asks his army to carry a trumpet and a lamp which leaves them walking into battle with no hand for a weapon or a sheild.
They defeat the Midianities by only God's hand. God caused them to become confused and kill each other.

As soon as Gideon died the Israelites turned back to false gods and did not even show kindness to Gideon's family.
Has there ever been someone or something that helped bring you through a hard time in your life that you fail to acknowledge and five credit?

Take a look into your life and see if there is anyone you have forgotten.

Are you ever afraid to trust God's plan for your life but go with the plan anyway?

Step out in faith.
