There was a show,
that used to air,
on a channel,
I still now watch,
on that So Random!,
was a show,
within the show,
but now that show,
that I watched,
no longer airs,
but have no fears,
for So Random! airs,
in its place,
it plays plays plays!
Horrible 'poem' aside - I love what Disney has done to 'save' the show that they had staring Demi Lovato (who is/was in rehab dealing with some things)
I have not really been able to watch the show much, but I liken it to Roundhouse and All That 'back in the day'.
When I started watching 'Sonny with a Chance' I lamented the fact that I could not enjoy the sketches that you got to see tiny bits and pieces of during the show! I actually wanted 'So Random!" to be the show, though I enjoyed what they were doing with 'Sonny with a chance' because of the different view into that particular aspect... not copying Nick completely, but ... just enough.
TV shows deal with the problem that Disney was needing to handle due to Demi's absence all the time. Sometimes they are just blunt and move on - like in 'Monk' when Sharona leaves the show and in the show she 'just moved' or have that particular character killed off, much like the recent changes in 'Two and Half Men' seem to be heading (which I have never watched).
A show (or movie), from my perspective, usually did not ever stop because someone was no longer going to be on it, but many have died because of the drastic changes that have to occur because of it.
The beauty of what Disney has done, is that the show they pulled already has a following because of the show it was on. Something to note is that things do not have to 'die' just because of a 'large unexpected change'. Demi is not there, but the entire rest of the cast that has been great still is - and are all perfect for doing what is needed for a sketch show that you already have a premise for!
I like that they kept the character names from "Sonny with a Chance"! This actually leaves the show open to have Demi reenter if and when she decides to!
What I propose from this is that - if you have a goal, something you are really working towards finishing DO NOT let ANYTHING keep you from it! No matter even if the 'star of the show' is now gone - there are options that you can take to continue! The challenge is to begin to be able to focus on what you DO have instead of what you don't.
A great example is this trick...
When looking at these two pictures you will notice that the pieces just seem to be shifted in order to let the new piece in (or in the case of TV you could see the opposite happening, and wondering where the hole came from)
How many times have you felt left out? or that you just did not fit somewhere? The reason is the same crafty way that this little geometrical trick works!
Someone ... Something HAS TO CHANGE in order to ACCEPT a change! You cannot go on just as you were when change occurs, but you can be part of how the reshaping takes place! In the trick pictured above it has a slightly different slope (hypotenuse) and a few pieces moving. Change does not have to make the BIG PICTURE something totally different, just go about it differently!
In order to accept someone new - you may need to be a little different in order to do it, not giving up your morals or ideals - just understanding differences. In order to be accepted as someone new - you may need to be a little different in order to do it ... etc as I state above. If all parties are willing to work through it, you can still be who you are... accepting the changes.
Sickness of good friend
Death in the family
Loss of technical kind (even crashing computer)
Gain of job
gain of child
loss of home
All of these changes are HUGE things that can greatly affect you! How will you handle it? Will you find your new place and work through it? Will you destroy what was there because of your unhappiness? Or might you destroy yourself?
