Being titled 'demos' you would assume that the songs are not that well recorded.. but you would be wrong - these are really great recordings!
Of the worship genre - heavy in the acoustic guitar, which is very well played in my perfect non-expert opinion!
Just three four songs - so my thoughts on those (he added one in the time I downloaded and got started writing on this - so there may be more by the time I post it ... if so I will either know - or you can tell me in the comments)
"First Balcony Night" - To be honest .. this song reminded me very much of an experience that I had with a few friends of mine .. a prayer time that birthed some great things in our lives. Not anything that lasted as it first came up, but got us ready for future endeavors - and possibly for even more to come. "We came so close - in one accord" " I want more " I know that is how I felt - the power of God so present within you that speaking, just seems wrong - that even the voice in the song is silent... you just want more of God - beautiful song, beautiful message!
"I Exalt Thee" - I was not expecting this to go the way that it did - to talk about "If I'm Dead" - I really just expected the basic .. normal worship song that would have "I Exalt Thee" in the title ... I was pleasantly surprised as it gives another insight to being a follower of Christ by doing this - that not only is 'exalting' about lifting God up, but about becoming ALIVE within yourself! The act is deeper than singing a song - much like said above, sometimes the song is ripped from your lips...interestingly the most alive on can feel is when one is that close to God - and usually no speaking or singing come, just 'You lovin' on God, and God lovin' on you'
"Rage Of Mercy" - what an interesting song title - something almost of an oxymoron really, but honestly with God - it is so very true! Interesting that the SHOUTING and RAGING comes from the man. I am not sure I get it quite yet, but really enjoy the song! really love when it gets to the part when the ... possibly big stringed instrument begins - awesome sounds here!
"The Tide" - (My Favorite) - I love the imagery ... the personification of each thing and how those things 'sort-of' can show a part of what... and who God is to us - The vocals are beautiful - great!
