Inheritance by Christopher Paolini
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I really enjoyed this book. I remember when I finished Brisingr I was so disappointed that I would have to wait until the next book came out for the actual conclusion to the story. If anyone else has followed these books like I have then they all felt what I felt. It was taking SO long between books, but to be honest I am glad that he took his time in writing them.
I love the entire story! I found that this final book to the series was well founded and really answered so many lingering questions and set forth a reasonable world for the future.
I enjoyed the hardships - the character growth - the redemption stories of so many characters. I would love to go into detail, but I would like to save any readers looking into getting this the spoilers as learning as the book goes in the only way to really enjoy them!
If you have not ever read his books before.. go pick up Eragon and read it.. you may have seen the movie.. do not let that sink your spirits because the book is better and the three books that follow only get better as the story fleshes itself out.
I found myself a little bored at the beginning as I had to relearn some of the characters and the world.. it has been a year or so before reading the last one, but once I was about 150 to 200 in .. I was hooked .. The new plot line solidified and was showing promise.. and it did not let me down one bit!
Great series.. great characters.. and some really great things dealt with in the stories. I always have had an aversion to the ability to control others with magic and the knowing of their true name, but I found that the way Christopher dealt with the issues in this book sewed it up for me.. and even put a little bow on it.
Once you have reached the climax he did not just end his story.. there was around 200 pages of how things were dealt with afterwards. This is not done often enough. You usually have to read about these things in future stories, but I found that he really finished the tale.. he really created a world that is wonderful and gave us all the parts of the story that just make stories great!
