This was another that blows me away coming from my wife. On one hand it can be an extreme ego stroker, but when I see or hear someone say something like this.. I immediately go to God and ask Him to do a check up of me.
I know that I may be able to give an appearance of doing all things that are right and proper by the Word of God, but only God can tell me whether or not it is what He wants from me. I have personal conviction that I hold strong to (as best I can) and I know that my wife knows of when I fail.. because I talk to her about it.
Mel and I were watching 19 Kids and Counting the other day and they touched on their personal conviction of not dancing. To me.. and to my wife.. that is odd.. but I bet that when they look at each other.. they believe the other is living the Word. Does it mean I am wrong.. or that they are wrong. No.. I believe in personal conviction and believe it to be one of the strongest ways for God to work in your life.
Letting others know of your convictions can give you a chance for ministry .. for witnessing I mean, as well it gives you accountability - though there is a fine line between 'letting others know' and 'shoving it down their throats'. A husband and wife match here .. you can have a perfect rhythm of it. You can support one another through them - and grow together .. closer to God truly as one!
