Jay Reed - More Him less me (Free Music, Review) #hiphop #rap #favorite

I have this album because of a tweet from Tha Gate Keepa who I reviewed HERE: http://derkopenedeyes.blogspot.com/2012/05/tha-gate-keepa-rock-of-ages-free-music.html

19 Song Album

Overall Thoughts:

Christian rap.. well mixed.. great sound .. the lyrics are very well put together.. I found these to sound great and present the messages well.. I was able to get into the music quickly and enjoyed every part of the album

I have added this to my favorites

Recording Thoughts:

Very Good ... Professional but some are more Semi-Pro

Stand Outs:

"I'll Follow" - totally like this!! Showing such a desire to go where Christ goes!  Awesome!

"Ayo" - very awesome beat.. and the chorus is so simple.. lol ..

"Turn It Up" - sounded great.. not sure I got the message completely.. but look forward to a future listen

"Walk With Me" - great song of encouragement in life.. that working for the will of God.. is amazing.. and really shows the companionship of it.. of comparison to earthly brothers .. to Christ as a brother ..

"Stay Focused" - bragging rights.. are you gifted for your own gain? .. instead.. focus on Christ.. and give HIM THE GLORY!! "you just gotta stay focused and lift Him up"

"Letter From Satan" - interesting theatrical piece .. very cool concept.. and actually well executed.. it is quite rough.. I doubt I could have my kids listen.. to a degree .. many questions would come up that they would not exactly understand the answers to.. pretty hard hitting issues.. brought to light in a sideways fashion ..

"Is This What You Want" - 'trendsetters.com' .. please stay out of a song.. is tihs some kind of musical watermark.. see tidbits link to understand my irritation :

"You Saved Me" - kind of deals with depression.. and the power of God that can pull you out..

"Better Day" - hope.. is a powerful thing.. With Christ .. hope is more powerful.. and there.. will be a better day.. even if that day is today.. and you just need to look at it more like Christ does.. This seemed to have much to do with friendship as well ..

"Jesus Still Wants The Rose" - very cool song.. very awesome uplifting message..really showing the Love of Christ.. our feeling of belief that Jesus does not want us.. that we are too bad for Him. .yet His love overcomes that!

"Lifting You High" - great song about Christ.. pretty much as it states.. lifting Christ high!!

"Redeem The Time" - cool storytelling one... about death.. and having regret.. but without that.. instead can we instead do things right now.. beautiful message!

"Go Harder" - more of a soft spoken song.. but about not giving up.. that when you feel like the moment has come that will beat you down and destroy you.. instead.. you "Go Harder"

"Letter 2 Lecrae" - probably the roughest mix on the album.. when the actually rapping was happening it was clear.. but I guess it may have been some sampled stuff.. that it sounded off.. all in all.. it was actually pretty cool to listen to a song encouraging another artist.. the scripture at the end to show why this was a good thing is very sound and we should remember that

"Speck" - and from that we go to .. 'do not judge me' .. 'do not judge others' .. it is close to the same message, but more in general terms.. no need to break one another down.. when we have the choice to lift one another up. "
I was critical until I saw my own sin"

"Stay Fresh" - very different.. more of a dance techno type feel.. still capturing Christian living .. and calling for righteousness

"Run This Town" - very strong biblically.. great beat.. really gets your attention!

"Victorious" - more  R&B.. pretty good.. but not one of my favs.. almost seemed like a prodigal son storyline..

"Rocket To The Moon" - more techno.. electronic feel.. very smooth.. very cool sounding .. about death.. seems so positive instead of being depressing.. pretty cool

take a listen ... get a download.. and TIP!!!
