CRY - Savy taught on jacob&esau (CRY)

In our way though the word at CRY (Celebrate Recovery Youth) we have made it to the story of Jacob and Esau. It still baffles me how many people do not know many of these stories. Either heard and never understood, not put into long term memory, or maybe just never been exposed to it. No matter the reason, and even if one has heard the story 7 billion times - one more never hurts. My dad once taught First aid to us in the Boy Scouts, and he made the statement that one could never learn it enough, or too many times. I feel the same about the Word of God!

So, onward. Savannah brought up your standard points from this story (btw - go read it I am not going to give an overview - It is in Gen. )

1. Older will serve the younger (Jacob was persistent)
2. Esau sells something of future satisfaction for something of immediate satisfaction

3. Matt. 6:19 - where are your treasures stored? - what are they?
4. The decisions you make everyday affect more than you know!
5. You WILL account for your decisions!
6. Malachi 1:2 - Can you look at God and ask "Where is your love?" ?

--

What might you have missed out on because you traded something that was meant for latter - for something now?

Are you doing that spiritually? Sometimes we get a promise from God - and feel that He is forgetting about it, or wants us to do more to force it to happen. Sorry everyone - that is not going to work out well. As much as God will honor His promise - no matter how much we mess it up, we need to be patient and trust in Him to guide us when the time comes. You will know and you will not be lost in the process.

What is the biggest thing in your life right now? Is it just stew, or is it the birthright that is the right of fulfilment of the promise that God has given you in your life?

In this we need to understand that, yes we must be patient with God, but WE do not need to hold back in our chance to make the decision. If you wait too long - it WILL BE TOO LATE! Do not wait to accept Christ into your life - and when you do, understand what it means. A simple way to understand is to know that tomorrow you must be different than you were yesterday! If Christ died for us when we were suppose to die, then accepting Him means that we must live for Him; and the only way to do that is to live like Him.

Have a good one everyone, make good decisions, do not give up your birthright for stew, and finally be patient with God when He is working in your life!
