As a "follower" I had to change my music. I had to find music that was about Christ. In this search I found Caedmon's Call and after getting a few CDs I found my favorite song on the album. That song was "love is different" and I was happy to sing this song over and over believing that I had "love" figured out.
Soon I found an acoustic version on the "interwebs" (shhhh) and it was done by Derek Webb, who I thought at the time just did it because he liked the song.
Truth was (at least I think this is truth) that the song was more his than the band he played it with. I LOVE acoustic so it was my favorite version of the song.
I soon found out the good ole Derek was coming out with a CD. I quickly purchased this and was SO CONFUZED by the lyrics. Derek taught me spiritual things with this music. Derek is who probably made me really only enjoy music with deep meaning, him and Chris Rice. I "followed" him long before twitter and Facebook came around and when he announced the free album "Mockingbird" I was in awe of how much this guy understood my own thoughts. I got that album and LOVED the deep issues it slapped in the face!
Then he introduced NoiseTrade. It was love at first sight. I have been on it ever since and hope that it never goes away.
So... thanks for the tunes!
