What Mel Taught On Tonight ... if you missed out

Lesson taught by Mel - Notes taken by Serennah

-----

Micah 17. Micah stole from his mom 1100 sheckels. Then, she blessed him for admitting it. In return, she carved him an idol for his house. Later on, Micah found a levite to be his priest...maybe to clear his conscience? What a generous man, right? He gave the levite 10 sheckels per year, a place to live, food, and one whole change of clothes. That's almost 1 scheckel per month.

What do we rest on other people's coat tails for?
Are we 'covered' because our prayer warrior friend is praying for us? Are we good for the week because we went to church? Do we do things expecting a Thank You?

Thank people and acknowledge how they were used by God. You don't want to build their ego, you want to build Christ in them.

Do you ever feel funny accepting a "good job!" when you know God deserves all the credit?

Ask for God's words, not yours. Remember that no man comes to the Father but by Christ. God uses other people and their coat tails to bless us, but by Christ is the only way to reach Him in our relationship with Him. We can't rely on other people to be holy for us.

Micah 18. Beware of following God for selfish gain. We are called to be selfless. Only then, God can give us back abundant life.

Isn't it enough that He died for my sins?
Even if God doesn't deliver me, I know that He can.

No matter what you're going through, praise your way through it.

We have to be the faith in this world for people who don't have faith. Let people ride on our coat tails, then disciple them. Christ had 12 men on His coat tails. Only 12 men. Yet He impacted the entire world. Those are big coat tails. One's you should want to ride on.
