What Peden taught on tonight... If you missed out! (CRY)

1 Samuel 13

Saul makes a mistake

-

This story begins more as the beginning of Saul's fall

Saul's son attacks the Philistines but Saul takes credit but this was common (in a family for the father to take credit like this)

The Philistines are now ready to attack back

The common occurrence that happens with Isreal.. They are promised something and then a looming problem has them stumble and lose trust. This is a time like this

Saul was told by Samuel the time frame that the offering would be made but Saul loses sight of the goal and the actual law and decides to make the offering himself!

He saw this more as a ritual instead of an honest thing thst needed to bd done with reverence.

Samuel accuses Saul of acting foolishly and now they (the Israelites are punished... Much as the promise told them from verse 12)

The Philistines were the people that sharpened and worked their weapons so the Isrealites, while bring as war with them lacked proper weapons.

The day of the battle only Saul and Johnathan have swords... How will this turn out (tune in next week)

Let us turn our focus to the mistake of Saul... Doing the RIGHT thing at the WRONG time!

James 1:2, 3

Notice that James does not say "if" but when... We shoukd certainly be prepared!

The burnt offerings were given to God as praise but you need to believe yhat He is going to do it and follow through with our actions

'rejoice in your trials'

God does not answer prayers immediately, but trust that He will!

If you flounder... You WILL fail!
