An interesting concepts.. Intercession and accountability.
I think it is something we may all feel we need but as well dislike whenever faced with the truth of it.
One day Mel and I were getting children's church ready and I noticed the sound was not working properly. I ignored it and got a few other things done. I did hear the oddity about the sound the entire time though. (I think it was one of the speakers was not working or maybe popping slightly)
Mel walks into the room and turns to the speaker saying 'that is not going to fly'.. My ignored problem is now the forefront thing I need to be sure to have fixed.
Alone and to myself I was not worried about the issue and would have likely functioned quite normally with the problem. I had a fair idea of what to do to get it fixed but just did not want to put my time into it. In the end it took the accountability of someone who cared for me and our ministry to speak the truth to get me into the right gear... Getting things done!
The sound then worked great and I had no worries when leaving afterwards... Nothing was going to need to be dealt with or ignored the next time we set up because it was already taken care of.
Having an ego keeps me from seeing many of the issues I have. Sometimes I am in need of honest and truthful supplication about something in my life. I don't get it often, but when I do and it is honest truth I know it is right and I need to do something about it.
Is there something you may need to get done which has been ignored?
If you cannot think of anything take a few moments with someone you trust to talk about it and examine yourself.
