Cities of Refuge

In Joshua, after all the land is divided among the nation of Israel, God then sets aside lands for refuge. In doing this He shows His love for all - and what the best way to begin to forgive someone is.

I have to admit, sometimes forgiveness is the hardest thing for me to hand out. I want to believe that I am good at it, but must admit I give looks and thoughts to those I harbor unforgiveness for that I never like to get from others.

The solution is just as it was in Joshua. I need to let those I want 'revenge' on be walled up and protected in refuge. God has walled me up to protect me from my own sins. Why not give time to others and talk it out later, after I am thinking clearer.

So, next time your in need of revenge - think of the cities of refuge. Let God handle the issue before you get your hands all in the mix.

You can remind me of this if I do not follow it as well!
