Time Out. You Can Intercede (Blurb)

The title of this reminds me heavily of 'Calling Time in T-ball', but these two posts are only closely related... use your super power ... Intercede :)

We were invited to have dinner at a friends house - and it was an enjoyable time; good food and good conversation - even a bit of America's Got Talent that was pretty awesome as well.

Elijah and Kyley enjoyed their meals and were very well behaved, until they decided it was a wonderful idea to start wrestling on the couch.  Now, most of the time, this is not too big of a deal - they do not get all that rough with each other while doing this kind of thing, but Kyley got angry and decided to take it out on Elijah's head.

With a crying boy on one side of the room and now a crying girl placed into the corner on the other side of the room, things began to calm down again.  The problem was that Elijah did not want to just sit still - he enjoys playing with his sister - he enjoys playing PERIOD.  He grew board quickly and came up with a solution to his problem.

Elijah interceded on Kyley's behalf by going to where she was in time out and hugging her. Kyley's response to this was apologizing for hitting him in the head. Usually this kind of thing takes me or my wife nudging them over and over to forgive and apologize.  I was amazed at the love my son showed his sister!  Granted, he just wanted his playmate back, BUT he showed me that intercession really does work! (I mean it did move me to letting her out of the corner early)

No matter the undesirable situation that you may have gotten yourself in - there IS SOMEONE that can and will intercede! As well, there may come that time that you are the one called to do the interceding!  Elijah knew that Kyley was in time out, and he knew why.  He knew that what she did actually hurt him, but he chose forgiveness over revenge.  He wanted to keep the relationship that he had - so he interceded!

Christ has done this for us - and He continues to do this for us!  And we ourselves are called to do it for those around us as well!

The next time you get a chance - DO IT - you WILL thank yourself for it!
