Caleb and Sol - The Healing (Free Music, Review) @calebandsol #gospel #country #favorite

Caleb and Sol is one of the first 'bands' that I found on Noisetrade and immediately found a favorite.

Overall Thoughts:

Beautiful sound.. beautiful vocals.. one of the greatest thing about these guys is their vocals.. the fact that they sing about Christ.. and push Him like crazy in their music is something I am just extremely grateful for! The messages are deep.. but simply laid out for.. at least I think.. anyone to understand them.. 

Messages such as Christ's Love.. our Victory in Him.. and even love within marriage.. looking to God in all things.. loving unconditionally are found in this album.. all around a great 'product'.. or better yet.. fruit! 

If you listen to nothing else in this album.. please listen to "Jesus Is Better" .. oh yeah.. He IS!! 

I would have liked to have heard more rap, kind of like was in 'afloat' but.. to be honest.. even without it.. this album is totally awesome!

Thoughts On Each Song:

"Nowhere To Run" - makes me think of Jonah on one hand and The prodigal son on the other.. but honestly .. we all go through this.. we run from the calling God has on us.. we just need that moment that this song is capturing to happen to us!  

"Picture Perfect" - Encouraging song - for certain.  "Thank God, I ain't what I was" .. ain't was used a ton in this song.. and.. I truly honestly .. liked it!  lol .. I have grown up .. most my entire life in the south.. so.. yeah.. "I am Free!" .. At times.. realizing .. you are not perfect can be soul crushing.. but when you look back and realize that God made you something new.. that you ARE NOT THE SAME.. even if you are not doing everything as you want to be.. You can have the hope to make it there.. Christ be with you.. and guide you daily!! 

"Unloved" - The hopes and dreams that we have.. we just need someone to see it in us.. see the potential.. Christ sees it.. look to Him.. no matter how much 'man' lets you down.. Christ.. be with you! A taste of their style from afloat is here.. in the spoken word near the middle of the song.. with the wonderful flow from speaking to singing.

"What I Am" - Laying out who you are can tear you apart, but if you look through the eyes of Christ this changes.. we can totally see that we are broken.. but we can see the redemption of each of the biblical characters alluded to here in this song.. those that had their lives totally and completely changed with the entrance of one man into it..

"You Are Good" - A bit of a old time hymn feel in this song.. but also with a modern anchor.. creating a great blend of music.. reminding me much of some of the songs on 'afloat'.

"Heal" - just the none musical beginning.. grabs your ears.. forcing you to just close your eyes and join in the thoughts.. the prayers.. that are being spoken.. for a short.. little.. tiny.. track.. wow.. coolness!! 

"Gran's Song" - totally reminds me of Bart Millard's, lead singer of Mercy Me, album Hymned when he talks about his grandmother.. as well this really shines the country feel of their music.. The acoustic instrumentation is beautiful .. and in the end.. such a wonderful tale of a Godly woman's faith/life! 

"Letting Go" - captures more of the rock.. alternative .. sound.. the message here is totally rocking.. "I'm Letting go... and falling into your grace" .. so often..maybe always. .it is the only way to actual be winning.. 

"Holy Lord" - The beat and start of this give it an Epic feel.. but the soft vocals that flow into it take that epic-ness and create a reverent mood.. This is a picture of heaven .. majestic.. beautiful.. 

"Covenant" - A message about marriage.. about family.. that is looking to Christ first.. and to family .. to relationship.. that really has unconditional love.. this is the kind of love song I can truly stand behind! "Even when it isn't easy" 

"Jesus Is Better" - Spoken word.. that much as he states.. "I Hope It Haunts You" .. "Better than EVERYTHING ELSE" .. Honestly.. this may yet be the most powerful track on the album! "Don't forget in the darkness, what you learned in the light" ... " And if you really truly believe it.. it is gonna cost you"
