There is a state of panic due to the death of Abner

Saul's son hears of Abners death

There are two people mentioned here that are leading Saul's army

They want to kill one of the last few of Saul's line (Saul's son Isbesheth) they kill him and bring David his head

David stands up for Saul's son and orders the death of the two

David does not rise through the ranks of kingdom by death.. But let's God take care of it..

David is not acting out of fear but trusting in God
