The forgiveness that we see towards David in his greatest turning from God... should always be an encouragement to us, no matter the mistakes we have made.  God will be there and wants us to again move towards Him!

Acts 13:22

After removing Saul, he made David their king. God testified concerning him: ‘I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do.’
