One of the things in this life that I just find insanely irritating is a double post on Facebook! I mean - I get it, you said it once already, do I need to see it again for some reason - right beside where it was already posted?
The other ... is complaining about things that you or no one else has control over. (which in itself is irony... I know)

"Everything is funny as long as it is happening to Somebody Else."
-- Will Rogers
~~~~~~~~~
I complain... more than I should - sometimes I enjoy complaining until I actually can 'hear' myself - then I cool down and move on.
Double posting is so annoying ... to have the same information in your news feed right beside each other... I mean - what kind of jerk...
For most of this problem I have brought it on myself. For instance - the worst in my feed is Matthew Paul Turner who has an interesting blog and some interesting ideas about Christianity (The beauty is that he is being honest). Anyway, I follow him on twitter, liked his page on Facebook, and friended him on Facebook. He uses some of the same posting tools that I do - so when he posts - there is always a link to all of those accounts, sometimes more than one. As well I follow his blog - so my Google reader also gets the feed. I deal with the insane amount of same posts from him, because I understand what 'I' do myself with my blog.
It is interesting how easy it is to pass judgment in a situation that is not understandable to you - but then when you have been through it, how easy is it to just let it slide. The honest challenge here is to know when one is better than the other - or if neither is the right choice.
(Scripture Heavy Post - But There is a Reason For This - to cut down on reading focus on the bold!)
Judgment should go without saying:
~~~~~~~~~
Matthew 7:1
Judge not, that ye be not judged.
Luke 6:37
Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
John 7:24
Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.(This is Quantum Judgment)
~~~~~~~~~
What about the 'let it slide' mentality? Is this better? Does this produce a body that is following Christ?
Luke 17:3
Amplified Bible (AMP)
Pay attention and always be on your guard [looking out for one another]. If your brother sins (misses the mark), solemnly tell him so and reprove him, and if he repents (feels sorry for having sinned), forgive him.
~~~~~~~~~
Jesus proves this point in this story - showing that judgment of 'self' is more effective than Quantum Judgment!

John 8:8-10
Amplified Bible (AMP)
Then He bent down and went on writing on the ground with His finger.
They listened to Him, and then they began going out, conscience-stricken, one by one, from the oldest down to the last one of them, till Jesus was left alone, with the woman standing there before Him in the center of the court.
When Jesus raised Himself up, He said to her, Woman, where are your accusers? Has no man condemned you?
~~~~~~~~~
The horrible thing is that - no matter the messenger of our 'judgment' - be it even just quoting of the word of God, we want to look at the person that points to it - instead of looking within ourselves and working with God to get that change. My vote is not to Judge AND not to let it slide - it is to do as it says in the Bible.
Hebrews 4:11-13
Amplified Bible (AMP)
Let us therefore be zealous and exert ourselves and strive diligently to enter that rest [of God, to know and experience it for ourselves], that no one may fall or perish by the same kind of unbelief and disobedience [into which those in the wilderness fell].
For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart.
And not a creature exists that is concealed from His sight, but all things are open and exposed, naked and defenseless to the eyes of Him with Whom we have to do.
~~~~~~~~~
The Bold part above is the part that is disliked - and we want SOMEONE to blame for it! Too bad we want to look beyond ourselves.... Ah, A double post means nothing - but the ever present bearing of a soul - is entirely another! I pray for a spirit that is willing and able to speak up when that is the hard thing to do - to have a spirit that when confronted with my own sins is willing to accept and repent.
Luke 17:13 is not just about jumping on your friends about their sin - it is about the seeking and giving of forgiveness! The trouble is that you both have to be accepting of it - you have to admit that it is there!

Ephesians 5:5-7
Amplified Bible (AMP)
For be sure of this: that no person practicing sexual vice or impurity in thought or in life, or one who is covetous [who has lustful desire for the property of others and is greedy for gain]--for he [in effect] is an idolater--has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
Let no one delude and deceive you with empty excuses and groundless arguments [for these sins], for through these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of rebellion and disobedience.
So do not associate or be sharers with them.
~~~~~~~~~
Often, when we are deep within our sinning natures (double posting like crazy) we may decide to seek council and ask what another thinks of the situation we are now in. The scary thing here is that most are too afraid to be honest in these times - basically because they are guilty of the double post as well, and know in speaking against your double post - they judge themselves. It is interesting how tied our forgiveness from God is tied to our forgiveness to others!
James 5:16
Amplified Bible (AMP)
Confess to one another therefore your faults (your slips, your false steps, your offenses, your sins) and pray [also] for one another, that you may be healed and restored [to a spiritual tone of mind and heart]. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].
~~~~~~~~~
It is important to note that confession comes before power! If you cannot be honest with yourself, your not going to be honest to another and because of that you quench the power you could be obtaining!
~~~~~~~~~
1 John 3:5-7
Amplified Bible (AMP)
You know that He appeared in visible form and became Man to take away [upon Himself] sins, and in Him there is no sin [essentially and forever].
No one who abides in Him [who lives and remains in communion with and in obedience to Him--deliberately, knowingly, and habitually] commits (practices) sin. No one who [habitually] sins has either seen or known Him [recognized, perceived, or understood Him, or has had an experiential acquaintance with Him].
Boys (lads), let no one deceive and lead you astray. He who practices righteousness [who is upright, conforming to the divine will in purpose, thought, and action, living a consistently conscientious life] is righteous, even as He is righteous.
~~~~~~~~~
A sin - is a sin, but to sin knowingly in habit - is a slap in the face of God. Be open with one another - lets not be afraid to open ourselves and show what we fear to show!
The future of not having openness and forgiveness with one another is written in Romans:
~~~~~~~~~
Romans 1
King James Version (KJV)
Romans 1
Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,
(Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,)
Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;
And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:
By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:
Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ:
To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.
First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.
For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;
Making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come unto you.
For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established;
That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.
Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to come unto you, (but was let hitherto,) that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles.
I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise.
So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also.
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
Just because you THINK you know what you know - may not be enough. It starts with one compromise and then it is a lifestyle of compromise. This was better said by Jordan Wethersby in the TV show Eli Stone.
~~~~~~~~~
How did we get here? How does one go from the boldness of a youthful dream to accusations of insanity? It starts out small-a justifiable compromise here or there, till one day you start believing that life is about compromise.
-Jordan Wethersby (Eli Stone)
~~~~~~~~~
Do a double check - and make sure your lifestyle is not about compromise - remember the ideals of your new christian 'youth' and make sure the lines that you said you would not cross - are not crossed.
Some things may have been understood improperly or taught to you incorrectly in your 'youth', but this cannot ALWAYS be the case.
