Misc..
Probably not the best recorded album..
Thoughts:
Misfit (2010) - lays heavily that we are not alone.. has a strong rock feel.. not the best recording.. but still a good song.
Sound Of Safety - where is your 'safe place' .. is in in something that knows nothing about you.. it could be in the One who KNOWS you better than you do!
Moment By Moment...
The recordings of this album are really good.
Thoughts:
"Maybe I'm" - that time of wonder.. of where you really are in life.. what will you do.. really we may all feel this way at anytime in our lives..(and this may be the theme of this album) we may be too far from the moment that we should be at.. and cannot get into the right mindset.. but it can push is into God.. who is all over.. go to Him!
"Ears Will Sing" & "Perfect Day" - The vocals in these songs are top notch.. very much showcased.. and the guitar playing is phenomenal as well!
"My Way From Here" - A cry to God.. to be pulled away from a situation.. a time that is just.. not 'fun' .. sometimes we just need to 'lose' ourselves in God.. just have that time.. and 'pulling away' from the tearing and beating that the world .. that life may be giving us..
"A Great Interruption" - Much slower than the rest.. I would not exactly say reverent.. but it is close to that feel..
Saturdays...
The recordings here are good as well
Thoughts:
This seems to be more of a carefree album.. about life .. and love. Nothing really poked out to seem to be about God until maybe "Nothing At All', but I a am not totally sure about that. (Not a problem.. just something)
"Boardwalk Baby" - it seems each song on each album that has the guitar beats and strong vocals.. really just seem to stick in my mind .. and are the ones I like the most.. this is one of those.. pretty great stuff!
"Defiance PartA" - This one came out of no where.. nothing like any of his other music.. it is 'instrumental' not that it really uses normal instruments.. it is more techno/electronic.. but has no singing.. interesting beat though.. I did like it .. just not expecting it (reminded me a tiny.. tiny bit of some of the stuff in Portal's soundtracks)
"Just Be Yourself" - agreed!
Sun For The Windows...
Another of good recordings
Thoughts:
Another focused more on life and love, but not really carefree.. more on dealing with some issues.. some problems .. and not so much about God or Christ except for "Prodigal".
"Slow Dance" - .. not kidding.. every time.. really liked this one!! (much more happy tune.. as well happy message.. a 'good time' in love .. in 'closeness')
"Sun For The Windows" - beautifully artist song!
"Prodigal" - great song as well.. really looking in the eyes of God.. to understand our failings.. but to look back to God within them.. and begin to move back to Him. Very passionate.. very GOOD!
Up In Glory...
Decent Recordings.. not the best .. I found the music to not really be synced well volume level with the vocals! (this is really just for "Misfit" & "Ninety-Nine" & "One Step Down")
Everything else sounded great!!
Thoughts:
"Misfit" - a 'redo' of it before (is on MISC).. or.. umm.. maybe one from earlier not sure.. This was less acoustic .. and more of a rock feel.. (still using acoustic)
I prefered the one I talked about above.
"Perfect Day" - also on Moment By Moment.. I liked each of these about the same .. this may have been the better recording though.. not sure
"Hero" - passionate song.. the battle to 'make it' to get from . .point "A" to point "B" can be a difficult process at times.. but if we focus on Christ.. we focus on moving forward.. a "Hero" can be made out of us .. in those hard times!
"Ninety- Nine" - showing such a trust and love in God! very emotional.. strong message!!
"Beautiful Love" - I very much enjoy the sound of rain.. at least I am pretty sure it was rain... maybe it was white noise.. anyway.. it was nice.. this is a simple slower song.. pretty relaxing..
Who Will Go...
More of a worship album feel .. not really actually one though.. acoustic still.. and the recordings in this album are very good!
This may have been my favorite out of them all
Thoughts:
"Beside Still Waters" - biblical .. viewpoint of God.. wanting us to be encouraged.. so much encouragement in the Word of God!
"Falling In Love" - The beauty of God with us in life.. amazing!!
"Hard to Believe" - The majesty of what and who God is .. really is hard to believe.. but .. this song really captures some things.. really gets your mind thinking.. and seeing some more of that awesomeness that is God!
"Inasmuch" - may actually be a worship song.. giving to God.. and trusting in Him.. no matter what.. even knowing how great God is .. even we are at our worse.
"Incomplete" - I know I have been in this state before.. such a great song.. really captures that moment.. and may even encourage one out of it!
"Remain" - being in a place.. that we know that we need God.. but also having those times that we fight as hard as we can.. without Him anywhere near us.. being defeated.. and realizing that the problem was that we never even came to God.. such as difference when we ask Him into the situation!
