Child Language Barrier (Blurb)

Some of Elijah:

Map Map - Matt Matt (His Uncle)
Bleeping - Sleeping
Neflix - Necklace
Troller - Controller
Flubs - Gloves
Wave - Fan

Some of Kyley:
Fisheys at the Fireplace - Shogun (A Japanese Restaurant
Smooshy - Shushi
Chik a lae - Chik-fil-a
Cuppy - Cup
The Big Pepper - Chili's
The Big Ball Place - Target

Both:

Chu Church - Children's Church

My kids have their own language, and if anyone has kids, has had kids, has worked or talked to kids knows ALL kids have their own language.  Often a kid can say something that is complete gibberish, but the mother knows the exact thing the kid is trying to get out.  An amazing feat, and not impossible if someone has spent enough time with the kids - in conversation and as well just understands the likes and dislikes of the child.

I think the best example from above is when Kyley first asked her mother and I if she could see the fisheys at the fireplace.  She would also mention she wanted smooshy.  We were so very confused - for .. what I think I remember being WEEKS! We did not learn what our daughter was trying to tell us until one day we all sat together and watched a picture slide show on one of our computers and a picture of us at Shogun came up, which prompted our girl to yell and point "Fisheys at the Fireplace".  All the pieces fit together, and truthfully we felt a tiny bit foolish as well as excited to know what she was saying.

The same can be said of us with the Lord.  I know there are times Him speaking to me is much like a child speaking to me.  He knows what He is saying and has a very important purpose behind it He would like to get across, the problem is me not having spent enough time to understand the language that is being used by Him.

If this happens to me, I pray for the "Ah HA!" moment like Mel and I got with our daughter so I/we will not miss out on any word from Him, and I plan on working hard to know and understand Him at all times, to not have moments of confusion and indecision in my life!

Has this happened to you before? .. Either with a child - or God?

Being on Time vs. Rushing to get There (Blurb)

When I am late - I can be a pretty terrible person - how about you?

The prime example would be leaving for work in the morning.

Sometimes even five minutes early can feel late to me, but anyway - when I believe myself to be behind in the morning - I go into Flash mode.  Well... not 100% flash mode because.. well.. I am slow going and will forget things - as well lose my cool much faster.  I may get clothes, but leave a bunch on the floor - or grab something for lunch and leave the fridge in disarray.  The worst thing I will do before leaving the house is get on to my wife.  She may ask me to take the dumpster to the front, or maybe just my pants are in the dryer.  I will be belligerent and terrible to her because of it.. essentially blaming any lateness I may have to her instead of myself.

As you may have noticed, I do not do well under the pressure of 'time'.  I like my freedom, and 'free time' can give me what I need to properly function.  There was one morning this was very clear to me (and it usually is in these cases)

Mel had breakfast ready.. and it pulled and urged me from bed much earlier than I usually get up ... after that ... traffic lights... trains... didn't mean much... I cannot help but know I am a better person - a calmer and happier person when I am much earlier to the place I need to be.  All the world is right and everything that normally would send me insane with anger means nothing when I am early.

This verse came to today in my readings ..

Let's not add troubles to today by rushing to each and everything we need to do.  Pray with me and let us begin to work towards making the extra effort to be early for things from now on.  I am certain it will make us more pleasant to be around!

Bathroom Eating ... That Never Happened (Blurb)

Rage Comic made by Matthias (click his name to check out his blog)

In writing last weeks post I realized I had two ideas trying to smash together and become one.. but I called for no procreating and separated the two.. so you can enjoy the sequel.. or maybe it is a prequel which has to do with... quite possibly ... every kid ... on the planet.

Their (At least Kyley and Elijah) brains seem to tell them they need to go to the bathroom just a few minutes after food enters their mouth.. or their sights.  This means I have just likely gotten my food as well, and it is hot and yummy looking - but I cannot have it because I need to go to the bathroom with one of my kids.

My normal reaction is to be upset needing to leave the table and cannot have my food when it is brought to me, or I cannot walk though the store like I planned (depending on the situation), but more often now I do not get so upset.

I got my food recently and immediately as the food was set before me I learned two things... it was too hot to be within my mouth and Elijah had to go to the bathroom.  Melanie tried to step in and keep him from going, but I certainly did not mind ... my food was too hot anyway.  I went with him and rested for a moment. (see last weeks post to see how that usually goes)

I found I am only upset now when I feel I am in a hurry.  It happened the day I actually started writing on this idea.  And because of my irritation, my wife ended up taking him.  I could have done better..
I can do this.  I can enjoy it.  I pray you find the moments you lose control - because it is healing to know when they are.  You get better at it - and then you feel better.

People like when people are happy!

IT INSPIRES!

Get into the right attitude and you could inspire greatness in another!

Lunch Time Recipe ... Episode 10

Bean and Cheese Burritos.

And Luigi's Lemon Real Italian Ice for desert. Not often is there a desert for lunch. Win!

I heat these much the same as I heat corn dogs - wrapped in paper towel.

Works good and is quite delicious

Even though the burritos can be a little too hot, the icy desert fixes the problem!

Enjoy your lunch!

Lunch Time Recipe ... Episode 9

PIZZA from CheeZies Pizza

Ingrediants :

Pizza ordered two nights before for hang out session with a good friend (with a side order of Goonies and Borderlands and a tiny bit of ANTs the new show on Disney channel)

Reheat and eat

One thing I need to say is that, even though this pizza does not beat some of the top chains it is pretty good for the Money! I have had pizza like this before and when reheated it was no good. CheeZies pizza can handle a Reheat!

Here's to hoping you have "delivery" - enjoy your Lunch!

Lunch Time Recipe ... Episode 8

Buffalo Chicken Hungry Man microwave meal

Oh so delicious ! ! !

Alongside Stargate Universe a wonderful lunch experience. Too bad we cannot have more of this show in the future (i think I have one more until there are no more)

Back to the food. I like to eat this meal by dipping the chicken into the mashed potatoes. The great thing about this meal is that it does not feel like you're eating a "tv dinner" and that is why this is such a great meal! Mel found it on sale and I love her for her vigilant sight for the things that I enjoy!

Hope your lunch does not taste microwaved!

Lunch Recipe Time ... episode 6

Red Beans and Rice

Ingredients:

Wife; made dinner on mother's day - it was wonderfully delicious (I am sure I could not say the same if I had done the better thing by cooking instead)

Interesting factoid about this meal; that I remember I never had this when I was younger and had no idea what I was missing.

Since being introduced to it by my wife it has become one of my favorite meals!

Thank you Mel for an enjoyable dinner and lunch; my cup ... no bowl overflowith!

Have an enjoyable lunch!

Dinner snapshot ... episode 2

Shrimp Alfredo is scrumdidallyumsious especially when Abi makes it. I have only been able to enjoy this meal three times in my life (made by Abi) and wish it were more!!!

This is a perfect meal that you can enjoy the day before your birthday; though I am not sure Abi will be available ... three times in about 5 or 6 years.... your probably out of luck.

Prayers going out to all those affected by the storms!

Hope you enjoyed your dinner tonight.

Lunch time recipe ... Episode 4

Ah.. this is one the most difficult lunches I have to take on during the day!

Ingredients:
Check bank account to make sure you have the 5.50 you will need
Now today on the way to the magical place that spits these suckers out, I had to get gas.

That is an interesting story in itself - the guy beside me at pump 9 accidentally paid for 10.00 on pump 10. This was the pump that I was on, which certainly was confusing for me to see that somehow I prepaid that 10 that I planned on paying ... time travel ... I thought? Nah - while walking in the guy next to me explained the problem ... so I just paid for his gas instead! Worked out good to me.

Anyway footlong spicy Italian on Monterey bread and provolone cheese

Lettuce
Tomatoes
Black olives
Banana peppers
Pickles
Salt & pepper
Oil & vinegar
And a little spicy mustard

(I had a coke at work, so ... that was my drink)

Make sure you have your money or debit card... or however you will pay ready - then hmmm.... you pay

Enjoy your lunch today - I am :)

Lunch Recipe Time ... Episode 3

Lasagna with a side of Bones.... No the show .. Bones that stars Angel from Buffy the vampire slayer, not sure how he can be in the sun so much now, but the show is awesome anyway :-P

Ingredients:
Leftovers from a wonderful dinner with friends!

The trick with leftovers is that you have to be sure not to finish a meal, probably a dinner.

You then place that in the fridge, my wife does this for me - if you got one (a wife); I hope they are from the top of the tree.

I heated mine for about 2 minutes and thirty seconds

My wife cooks great food for dinner and for lunch

Enjoy your lunch this day, and who knows....you may end up with leftovers!

Lunch Recipe Time .. Episode 2

Now honestly this meal is the most common meal for me to enjoy during my lunch break.

Ingrediants:

Chicken fried CHICKEN (this is very important to note, any other Chicken Fried ____________ is absolutely no where near as good as the CHICKEN.
I heat mine for three minutes - then stir the potatoes
Repeat for another three minutes

(note : as this heats I recommend occupying your time by watching something, or being productive... I watch Hulu and today's show is "Lie To Me", of course you will finish the show as you eat your meal)

When it finishes heating, BEFORE actually eating, you MUST mix the potatoes and corn - this makes both taste so much better and makes you feel as if you are eating more than you are...sort of...

Here is to hoping you enjoy/enjoyed/are enjoying your lunch today!

Salad be a bit hot...

I enjoy salad at an all you can eat buffet. If you don't .... you must not understand what 'all you can eat' means! I usually have a mountain on my plate, with authentic snow caps (courtesy of the ranch dressing!) I have a particular way I like it but depending on the buffet I may have different things in my salad. When I saw 'wasabi peas' I thought *hmm I shall try those because I have no clue how they may taste*

I returned to the table (after getting another plate mountained with other food, I take a bite of my salad (including the peas)

* HOLY SMOKES BATMAN - THAT IS SOME HOT SALAD !!! *

Then I remember where the word 'wasabi' is filed in my brain... yeah. Not only should you think before you leap, but thinking before biting is a great idea as well!

Have a great day and enjoy your possibly spicy or not so spicy day!!!!
